how the determined succeeds

Once upon a time, there was an Indian Prince living in tranquil bliss on the shores of India. He would often look far into the sea's horizon and long to cross the oceans to the magical dreamland of America. This is the story of Gautam. To achieve this dream, the determined Gautam hired a tennis coach and paid off some officials and off he swished to the Land of the Free.

We pick up the story after a span of a few years and find Gautam living in Houston, TX where he has adopted new friends [of all colors, races, shapes and sizes] and even goes by a new name! His best girlfriend, Kimberley with her infinite powers of intuition bestowed upon him the name Jake.

[side note: Kimberley did not know at that time that Gautam's name on his birth certificate is Jakob]

Jazzy Jake & Powerpuff Pauline

Determination Meets Fire

So here we are, in Houston, TX where mosquitos rule the day and night clubs rule the night. In the perfect storm of determination and fiery passion was where Jake's and Pauline's world collided. On one fine summer day, Pauline introduced herself to Jake at an adventure racing training group in Memorial Park. Jake was impressed by her assertiveness but truthfully, Pauline was just trying to win the "remember as many names as possible" game they were playing.

Because Pauline was out at a club the night before, she was not in tip top form to run 3 miles in the 105 degree heat and humidity. Jake's married buddies Jason and Clint were encouraging him to talk to Pauline during the run. As Pauline was on the verge of collapse, Jake drilled her with not just 20 questions, but 200 questions ranging from the exact color of her hair to her current dating life. It was just short of a miracle that Pauline survived that first training session. That was a good thing since those 3 times-a-week sessions gave Jake the opportunity to show his chivralry by often helping Pauline cross a muddy trail trench or carrying her kayak up the hill. It also didn't hurt that Jake would again pay off all of his friends to say nice things about him to Pauline. [disclaimer: yet to be proven]

And so the interest sparked at their first dinner date at Indika blossomed to their first kiss at La Strada. Jake and Pauline went on many trips together but the one that clinched the deal was their very first to Los Cabos, Mexico. That is why after this whole wedding fiasco, that will be where you will find Jake and Pauline on their romantic, passionate and highly anticipated honeymoon.
